The book that Big Pharma, ABC, NBC, and CBS don’t want you to read

Big Pharma now commands extraordinary control over our lives, especially in the U.S.

Doctors blindly follow the dictates of Big Pharma: following marketing cleverly disguised as research coupled with wild exaggerations of clinical trial results (such as reporting “relative risk” as actual results, e.g., 2% risk reduced to 1% reported as a 50% reduction), selective reporting and failure to report negative outcomes. Direct-to-consumer drug advertising has further shifted the balance with major media such as network and cable TV, magazines, even many websites turning away any reporting that could antagonize drug advertisers. The nearly $6 billion spent annually on drug ads now means that there is virtually no negative reporting on any aspect of conventional healthcare: no comments about the explosion of drug prices, no comments about widespread fraud and malpractice among physicians, no comments about the crippling costs of healthcare insurance for an increasingly unhealthy population.

Big Pharma knows how to make money. They prefer chronic disease, for example, over acute illness. An episode of pneumonia yields only a two-week opportunity for antibiotics, while an injectable biologic agent for rheumatoid arthritis or oral agent for fibromyalgia provides years of profit opportunity. Huge sums of money are at stake and they work to protect their franchise, forcefully propagating their perverse version of “health.”

Ironically, information that can empower the individual in exercising personal control over health has exploded and, along with it, smartphone apps and devices that provide extraordinary insight into health. You can monitor something called heart rate variability as an index of sympathetic/parasympathetic nervous system balance (Heart Rate+ Coherence), breath hydrogen as an indicator of small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (Aire), blood levels of the beta-hydroxyutyrate to assess your level of ketosis or blood ketone content, or monitor sleep phases using an actigraphic wearable device such as an Oura ring, FitBit, Whoop, or Apple Watch.

And you can now collaborate with other people to learn and exchange information and experiences, a modern and powerful method of applying the incredible power of the wisdom of crowds in the modern information-enabled age, a phenomenon that makes you, in many cases, smarter and more knowledgeable than the doctor. I am astounded almost daily at the levels of knowledge schoolteachers, accountants, engineers, and retired people are capable of achieving displayed, for example, in our Undoctored Virtual Meetups.

But let me also tell you what Undoctored (book and Undoctored Inner Circle membership website) is NOT: It is not a way to diagnose peculiar or rare conditions that stump doctors. It is NOT a place to discuss what drugs should replace the ones you are taking.

The Undoctored approach does something unique. By correcting six factors that allow hundreds of modern health conditions to emerge, conditions as common as type 2 diabetes, obesity/overweight, irritable bowel syndrome, eczema, seborrhea, acid reflux, hypertension, high triglycerides, migraine headaches, plantar fasciitis, and many others simply go away in the majority. In other words, whether you were labeled with rheumatoid arthritis, ulcerative colitis, or vitiligo, it does not matter because the overwhelming likelihood is that, in coming weeks, you will no longer have the condition.

This is why I repeat myself over and over again when people have health questions: Have you engaged in ALL Undoctored Wild, Naked, Unwashed strategies?

That said, we are also pursuing a new collection of strategies that take health and life performance to the next level, a path that I call Undoctored High Performance. Our recent discussions about L. reuteri yogurt as a means of increasing oxytocin, for instance, that leads to reduction in appetite, thicker more collagen-rich and smoother skin, accelerated healing, improved bone health, higher testosterone, and increased libido is a perfect example: these ideas and practices are not essential for overall health but provide additional powerful advantages, so powerful that I call it “stay 40 for the next 40 years.”

The Undoctored Wild, Naked, Unwashed strategies along with emerging Undoctored High Performance strategies cost very little. And they also keep you from relying on the woefully inadequate advice of doctors, dietitians, and Big Pharma. Yes, they may know all about the newest drug for fibromyalgia that provides pain relief (along with substantial weight gain, type 2 diabetes, kidney disease, fatigue, and depression while paying Big Pharma a nice premium). Understanding Undoctored principles is therefore taking the candy right out of the mouth of doctors, hospitals, dietitians, and Big Pharma. They fight to maintain the high-profit $3 trillion status quo, don’t bother with non-profitable activities like vitamin D and cultivation of bowel flora, and try to squash agents of change like Undoctored. This is why being Undoctored is in YOUR hands, not the doctor, not the hospital, not the drug industry, none of whom are interested in genuine health and youthfulness.

The worst thing you could do to the healthcare system? Be healthy and not need their drugs and procedures.
